Along the route

  1. You check the street before you open the door.
  2. You cross the road, then cross back.
  3. You walk at 6am so nobody sees.

None of this makes you a bad owner.

Your dog isn’t being bad. They’re over their limit.

Every dog has a distance where they can notice another dog and still eat a treat and listen to you. That’s their threshold. A bit closer, they stiffen and stare. Closer still, they bark or lunge. That isn’t bad behavior. It’s a dog past their limit. Calm Pass keeps practice on the calm side of that line.

8 m
3. Will they take a treat when they see a dog at that first distance?
4. How long do they take to settle after a reaction?
5. How many dogs do you pass on a typical walk?
  • Red · barks at 8 m
  • Yellow · notices at 18 m
  • Green · train at 20 m

Start training at about 20 m (66 ft). That’s your dog’s green zone for week 1.

How it works

  1. Find the distance

Five taps give you a starting distance where your dog can still eat and listen.

  2. Play the games

Short reward-based games at that distance: find-it, Look At That, the U-turn.

  3. Log and adjust

Log each walk in 20 seconds. Your target distance adjusts week by week.

What’s inside

Six weekly modules of short video lessons (3–8 minutes each), plus a Start Here module on day 1. Every lesson ends with one practice task that shows up on your Today screen.

Is this right for my dog?

A good fit if your dog…

  • Barks, lunges or freezes at other dogs on leash
  • Is relaxed around people
  • Can take a treat when other dogs are far enough away

Get a professional first if your dog…

  • Has bitten or tried to bite a person or dog
  • Growls, lunges or snaps at people

Questions

More answers on the FAQ page.

How much time does it take each day?

About 10–20 minutes of walking plus 5 minutes of games at home. You pick 10, 20 or 30 minutes a day and the plan fits to that.

What if I live in a city?

There’s a City version of the plan. It swaps open-field setups for parked cars, doorways and other barriers you already walk past.

Do I need a trainer?

Not for most dogs who react to other dogs on leash. If your dog has a bite history, reacts to people, or changed suddenly, work with a certified professional first. You can use Calm Pass alongside them.

What equipment do I need?

A front-clip harness, a regular or long leash, a treat pouch and some high-value food. No special collars. We never use prong, choke or shock collars.

My dog is reactive to people. Will this help?

No. Calm Pass covers dog-to-dog leash reactivity only. Please work with a certified behavior consultant or a veterinary behaviorist.

Is this a cure?

No. It’s a plan to practice calmer walks. Results vary with each dog, how often you practice, and where you walk.

What if it isn’t right for us?

Email us within 30 days and we’ll refund you in full. No forms, no questions.

How long do I keep access?

For life, including your walk log and any updates to the lessons.
